DAY 04 - Free day and departure
We requested for a place in Bohol where we could cook. We were really in a tight budget then hehehe. With his full effort, Kuya Dodong looked for a place that would fit to our budget. We stayed in a nice resort in Alona Beach with airconditioned rooms, kitchen and swimming pool!
The swimming pool |
Kuya Dodong is really the best! Though, the city history and other things in Bohol were not part of our itinerary, he toured us around the city and showed where the mall, municipal and city hall, port, bank, etc were all located. We even had a side trip in the old houses near the port. These houses were built with stones that only the rich residents of the town could afford back then.
Old house |
He was like a father/tatay to us. You would feel his concern and eagerness to give his best so his visitors would enjoy their stay in Bohol. Love the part when we were in the Loboc cruise, the performers were singing a Boholano song. Sensitive enough, he knew that we hardly understand any word so he translated the song for us! So sweet! The song was about how Boholanos show their love and compassion to their partners.
Kuya Dodong enjoying the food |
Tempura, similar to the kikiam, but it was far more delicious! Very tasty! It's main ingredient was blue marlin fish. His relative has been supplying him with tempura from Cebu. We were so delighted that Kuya Dodong even brought with him his own stove, pan and sticks!
Bohol trip would not be complete without Kuya Dodong's tempura! We even brought tempura back in Manila. The tempura was nicely sealed inside a styro box.
May be you're thinking that we must have spent a lot to afford Kuya Dodong's service. Honestly, each us only paid Php 3, 000.00! (tour and accommodation) after a long negotiation through chat and text. Price varies depending on the number of guests and length of stay. But since, the commodities are now soaring high (especially the fuel), please bear with him if he has put additional "little" increase in his service. :))
